makarism (plural makarisms)

  1. A statement that someone or something is blessed, happy, fortunate, or is to be honored or congratulated; a beatitude, as in the Sermon on the Mount. Used for Hebrew and Greek statements, a technical term in the academic literature of Judaism and Christianity.
