Morphologically məts (“to die”) + ma- + -ay.

"Sà à waŋ, sà à waŋ", tagòɗ à mamətsay, ama mamətsay ahòy atà à ahàl. (Mafətala 9:6)[1]- Come here, come here, they said to the death, but the death flew from them (Revelation 9:6)
