Etymology

Prefixed form of bart, from Proto-Albanian *bar-, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰor-eyō, further from *bʰer- (to bear, to carry). Compare Ancient Greek φορέω (phoréō). Cognate to Illyrian *bardia (id).[1]
