[edit]From Old Norse mœðgur f pl (“mother and daughter”). Compare with fegge m (“a father or son in relation to the other”), from Old Norse feðgar m pl (“father and son”).

Usage notes
[edit]- The English term bitch could often be an appropriate translation of this term, except that megge term doesn't carry any sense of sexual promiscuity.
