Adverb

mielellään (comparative mieluummin, superlative mieluiten) (Note that the comparative and superlative forms are in fact forms of the synonymous adverb mieluusti; mielellään itself has no such forms)

1. gladly, willingly, with pleasure

   Autan sinua mielelläni.

   I will gladly help you.

2. (often with saada in conditional mood and an infinitive) preferably, rather

   Hän saisi mielellään olla vähän viisaampi.

   S/he rather ought to be a bit wiser.

Inflection

Mielellään is inflected in the person of whom it refers to. In colloquial Finnish, this is not always observed: *Autan sinua mielellään is not uncommon, but it is considered nonstandard and ungrammatical.
