Compare Aramaic נְטַר (nəṭar, to watch, guard), Classical Syriac ܢܛܲܪ (nəṭar, to watch), Arabic نَظَرَ (naẓara, literally to watch), Biblical Hebrew נָצַר (nɔṣár, to keep, maintain).
