Big Nambas[edit]

Etymology[edit]

The prefixed article na- on an earlier uak Proto-Oceanic *waga, from Proto-Eastern Malayo-Polynesian *waŋka. Blust supposes it to have developed in Proto-Central-Eastern Malayo-Polynesian, but other scholars reject this grouping. Cognate with Hawaiian waʻa, Niuean vaka and Marshallese wa. With the article, compare Leviamp nawak and Axamb nwog.

Noun[edit]
