English[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From ordinary +‎ -ity; compare French ordinarité.

Noun[edit]

ordinarity (usually uncountable, plural ordinarities)

  1. (rare) Ordinariness: the property of being ordinary.

Usage notes[edit]

  • This form is rare in general, especially in comparison to ordinariness. One context in which it is slightly less rare is in mathematics, in reference to ordinary and near-ordinary Galois representations and deformations; even there, however, the form ordinariness is far more common.
