[edit]Etymology
[edit]Unknown. Influenced by râu (“river”), compare Megleno-Romanian păroi. Possibly from a Slavic language (compare Bulgarian порој). Alternative theories suggest Albanian përrua, Thracian *parau(t) and Greek *παρροή (*parroḯ), from παραρροή (pararroḯ).[1]
