Finnish

Noun

päivät

  1. (deprecated template usage) nominative plural of päivä
  2. An event, occasion, symposium, forum, fair, etc. lasting more than one day (but also used in the singular for one day); sometimes translated as a qualifier + "days".
  3. When preceded by a qualifier that specifies a period of time, päivät indicates that the length of time is approximate, and it may be translated into English with "about". The qualifier is in the genitive.
    Siitä on nyt vuoden päivät.
    Siitä on nyt noin vuosi.
It was about one year ago.
