[edit]12th century (pardinarium, in Latin documents). From Old Galician-Portuguese *pardĩeyro, from Vulgar Latin *parietinario or rather from pardiña + -eiro, from Latin parietina (“old or ruined wall”).[1] Cognate with Portuguese pardieiro.
