From Middle Irish persille, from Anglo-Norman peresil, from Latin petroselinum, from Ancient Greek πετροσέλινον (petrosélinon, “parsley”), from πέτρος (pétros, “rock, stone”) + σέλινον (sélinon, “celery”).
