English[edit]

Noun[edit]

positive measure (plural positive measures)

  1. (mathematical analysis) A function whose domain is a σ-algebra, whose codomain is [0,∞], and which is countably additive.

Usage notes[edit]

The adjective "positive" is used when contrasting this kind of measure with signed measures (or complex measures). Otherwise it is often just called a "measure."
