Etymology

punch +‎ front. From being a front flip from a hard punch into the ground with the feet to effect the jump.

punch front (plural punch fronts)

  1. (gymnastics) A frontal flip by jumping to a landing with both feet and then pushing hard to bounce and flip forward.
  2. (aerialist skiing) A bad landing, where after landing a jump, the skier bounced off the snow and flips forward, landing on their skis again.
