Noun[edit]

reflexology (usually uncountable, plural reflexologies)

  1. (medicine) The study and interpretation of behavior in terms of simple and complex reflexes.
  2. (alternative medicine) A form of complementary medicine involving the stimulation of points on the feet, hands, or ears, in the belief that it will have a beneficial effect on some other parts of the body or to improve general health.
    • 2021, Dr Philippa Kaye, Doctors Get Cancer Too, Vie Books, page 156:
Reflexology is based on the idea that different points on the feet correlate to different points in the body and by gentle massage of the feet one can heal the body, unblock energy and ease stress.
