regression tree
English[edit]
Noun[edit]
regression tree (plural regression trees)
(data mining) A dataanalysis method that recursively partitions data into sets each of which are simply modeled using regression methods.

2000, Ivan H. Witten & Eibe Frank, Data Mining^{[1]}, page 70:
Because statisticians use the term regression for the process of computing an expression that predicts a numeric quantity, decision trees with averaged numeric values at the leaves are called regression trees.
