  1. (metadata) A word or a combination of words that semantically represent the data type (value domain) of a data element, such as the suffix "ID" for the data element "PersonID", the suffix "Name" for "PersonGivenName" and "PersonFamilyName" and "Date" for "PersonBirthDate".
