Noun[edit]

request stop (plural request stops)

  1. A location at which public transport does not ordinarily stop, but will do so if specifically requested by a passenger.
    • 2019 October, Chris Stokes, “Between the Lines”, in Modern Railways, page 97:
To compound the misery, Penmaenmawr is a request stop with poor visibility, so to ensure the train stops we had to stand in drenching rain.
