Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Old Czech sieci, from Proto-Slavic *sěťi, from Proto-Indo-European *sek- (to cut).

Pronunciation[edit]

Verb[edit]

síct impf

  1. to mow
  2. to reap

Usage notes[edit]

The past participle sekl isn't normally used in imperfective meaning, but rather as the past participle of imperfective seknout. This verb síct and its forms are usually interchangeable with those of sekat with the infinitive sekat being more common.
