Lower Sorbian

Etymology

From Proto-Slavic *saditi. Cognate with Upper Sorbian sadźić, Polish sadzić, Czech sadit, Russian сади́ться (sadítʹsja, to sit down), Old Church Slavonic садити (saditi, to plant).

  1. to set down (place on a surface)
  2. to plant (place in soil or other substrate in order that it may live and grow)
