From a variant of Lua error in Module:etymology at line 156: Old Occitan (pro) is not set as an ancestor of Catalan (ca) in Module:languages/data/2. The ancestor of Catalan is Old Catalan (roa-oca). (compare Occitan sause), from Latin salicem, accusative of salix (compare Spanish sauce, Italian salce), from Proto-Indo-European *saləḱ-, *salək- (willow).
