English

Noun

school night (plural school nights)

  1. An evening before a typical school day; normally a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night.
Jamie has to go to bed at 9:00 on school nights, but on Friday and Saturday he gets to stay up as late as he wants.

Usage notes

Primarily used to indicate that one cannot stay out late; compare with less exact weeknight. Also used by working adults, somewhat jokingly, instead of more applicable worknight.
