Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Probably from a Vulgar Latin root *excorrimare. Another possibility (perhaps more likely) is a relation to scrum.

a scurma (third-person singular present scurmă, past participle scurmat) 1st conj.

  1. (popular) to scratch, scrape, poke, disturb the earth or ground, in order to take something out or dig a hole (often of animals)
