securitan (plural securitans)

  1. (obsolete) One who feels secure, but who may in fact not be.
    • 1837, Joseph Hall, Works: With Some Account of His Life and Sufferings:
      The sensual Securitan pleases himself in the conceit of his own peace.
    • 1862, The Works of Thomas Adams:
      The dissolute securitans think that God doth but smile at the absurdities of men ; that ludit in humanis ; that their drunkenness and adulteries rather make him merry than angry.
    • 1970, Majmaʻ al-Buḥūth al-Islāmīyah, The Fourth Conference of the Academy of Islamic Research:
      As we said, it is fighting without aggression and is declared against the fighters, not against securitans and peaceful people, who are not dangerous to the Islamic Call or the Islamic community.
