Etymology

Literally, “forgetful person of Collegno”. From the Bruneri-Canella case, a notorious judicial and media affair about the alleged reappearance in 1926 of a man who had gone missing during World War I. Canella was an inmate at a mental hospital in Collegno, whence the term.
