Etymology

szór +‎ -akozik, a calque of German sich zerstreuen. Created during the Hungarian language reform, which took place in the 18th–19th centuries.[1][2]

  1. (intransitive) to have fun, enjoy oneself, have a good time
  2. (intransitive) to mess with someone (-val/-vel)

Usage notes

To avoid the sense of messing with someone, the adverb jól can be added.
