Etymology

Inherited from Vulgar Latin *tando, a demonstrative form to Latin quandō (when) (whence Romanian când), after the model of Classical Latin quālis ~ tālis, quantus ~ tantus. Compare Neapolitan tanno, Sicilian tànnu, Corsican tandu, Sardinian tando.
