     Until now, the oldest records of red tooth preservation date back to the late Paleocene Asian taeniolabidoid multituberculates Lambdopsalis bulla and Sphenopsalis nobilis, which have pigmented enamel on the ventrolateral surface of the incisors and the crown of the second upper and lower molars [26, 53, 54].
