tecto m (plural tectos)

  1. pre-reform spelling (used until 1943 in Brazil and 1990 in Portugal) of teto; still used where the agreement hasn’t come into effect and may occur as a sporadic misspelling

Usage notes

[edit]

The 1943 Brazilian Orthographic Form recognized this spelling as valid, although less preferred, seeing as the c was rarely pronounced.[1] The modern Brazilian Orthographic Vocabulary no longer admits this form.
