tetraphthong (plural tetraphthongs)

  1. A monosyllabic vowel combination consisting of two diphthongs, or a semivowel followed by a triphthong.
    Gottscheerish has four tetraphthongs: /i̯oai/, /i̯oːai/, /i̯uai/, and /i̯uːai/.
