Ancient Greek θίνα (thína, dune, shore) +‎ -lite.

Noun[edit]

thinolite (usually uncountable, plural thinolites)

  1. (mineralogy) A calcareous tufa, partly crystalline, occurring on a large scale as a shore deposit about the Quaternary lake basins of Nevada.
