  1. (transitive, literally) To set all of (something) on fire, especially so as to destroy it.
    Torch it down, boys, burn the whole thing down!
  2. (transitive, roofing) To use a propane torch to burn sheets of modified bitumen, a technique used on roofs to provide waterproofing and fire resistance.
