Replaced Old French sempres (always), from Latin semper.

  • audio:(file)
  • Rhymes: -uʁ

Usage notes

  • The "s" at the end of toujours will not trigger liaison. For example, toujours ici will be pronounced as [tu.ʒu.ʁ‿i.si].
