Etymology
[edit]This can be interpreted as "the moon is overhead, sinking" or "the moon sinks at noon." The moon at this phase is at its highest during sunrise, appearing to "sink" as it sets at noon and wouldn't appear again until late at midnight when everyone is asleep.
