Equivalent to u- (un-) +‎ omgængelig (sociable), after German únumgänglich (unsociable) and unumgä́nglich (unavoidable), adjectives of úmgehen (to deal with) and umgéhen (to avoid), corresponding to Danish omgås (to deal with) and omgå (to avoid) respectively.
