English[edit]

Etymology[edit]

vesico- +‎ urethral

Adjective[edit]

vesicourethral (not comparable)

  1. (anatomy) Relating to, or connecting, the urinary bladder and the urethra.

Usage notes[edit]

Do not confuse vesicourethral with vesicoureteral; vesicourethral flow is the normal flow of urine, whereas vesicoureteral flow is retrograde (that is, backward), and the backwardness is what puts the reflux in vesicoureteral reflux.
