Etymology[edit]
Learnedly, from Koine Greek ψυγεῖον (psugeîon, “cooler”), from ψύχω (psúkhō, “I make cold”), stem ψυγ- + -εῖον (-eîon) > modern -είο (-eío). [1][2]
