- mere, sheer, bare, just
- வெறும் வாய்ச்சொல் போதாது, செயலிலும் காட்டவேண்டும்.
- veṟum vāyccol pōtātu, ceyalilum kāṭṭavēṇṭum.
- Mere word of mouth isn't enough, it must also be shown in action.
- empty, plain, blank
- வெறும் சோறை சாப்பிட முடியாது.
- veṟum cōṟai cāppiṭa muṭiyātu.
- Plain rice can't be eaten.
