Etymology[edit]
Of native Korean origin. From 얼 (eol-, “slightly”) + 갈이 (gari, “tilling, plowing”).

- (SK Standard/Seoul) IPA(key): [ˈɘ(ː)ɭɡa̠ɾi]
- Phonetic hangul: [얼(ː)가리]
- Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
