Etymology

유달 (yudal) +‎ 시리 (-siri, adverb-deriving suffix).

유달 (yudal) is perhaps Sino-Korean (yudal, possessing attainment), or perhaps Sino-Korean (yu) + the adjectival stem 다르 (dareu-, to be different), or alternatively a merger of 유독(惟獨) (yudok, uniquely, especially) and 유별(有別) (yubyeol, especial).
