[edit]Etymology
[edit]이듬 (ideum, meaning unknown) + 해 (hae, “year”). This is one of a number of Korean words that seem to derive from an ancient root *it meaning "two", which was lost by Middle Korean times. See also 이듬 (ideum, “second plowing of the fields”), 이틀 (iteul, “two days”), 이듭 (ideup, “two years of age”).
Pronunciation
[edit]- (SK Standard/Seoul) IPA(key): [idɯmɦɛ] ~ [idɯmɦe̞]
- Phonetic hangul: [이듬해/이듬헤]
