Sino-Korean word from 卒 (“(archaic) to stop; to end”) + 婚 (“marriage”), an orthographic borrowing from Japanese 卒婚(そつこん) (sotsukon), originally coined in 2004 by Japanese writer Yumiko Sugiyama (杉山由美子).
