åla (present ålar, preterite ålade, supine ålat, imperative åla)

  1. to crawl, to worm, to eel
    Vi ålade under stängslet
    We crawled under the fence ("eeled under the fence")
  2. sprout (remove the sprouts from a potatoe)
    Hon ålar potatis.
    She is sprouting potatoes.

Usage notes[edit]

References say slither, but that might sound weird of a human. Mostly used to describe crawling close to the ground.
