Etymology[edit]

From Old Armenian *ցաք (*cʻakʻ), found in ցաք-ի (cʻakʻ-i, Christ's thorn), of the same Proto-Indo-European origin as ցախ (cʻax).

Compare also Svan ცა̈გ (cäg), ცაგ (cag, thorn, prickle, spike).
