Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Prakrit *𑀲𑀸𑀟𑁆𑀠 (*sāḍḍha), from Sanskrit सार्ध (sārdha, plus a half), from (sa, with) +‎ अर्ध (ardha​, half). Cognate with Hindustani साढ़े / ساڑھے (sāṛhe) and Sindhi ساڍِ (sāḍhi)
