Cognate with Northern Thai *ᩉ᩠ᩅ᩶ᩣ᩠ᨶ and later ᩉ᩠ᩅᩣ᩠ᨶ, Khün ᩅ᩵ᩤ᩠ᨶ, Isan หว้าน or ว่าน, Lao ຫວ້ານ (wān) or ວ່ານ (wān), ᦛᦱᧃᧉ (v̇aan²).
