Etymology 2
[edit]Named after Chinese president 孫中山 (Sun Yat-sen), who used the pseudonym 中山樵 (Nakayama Kikori). Ultimately from the Japanese surname 中山 (Nakayama).
Zhongshan, Guangdong was renamed from 香山 (Xiāngshān); Sun Yat-sen's birthplace is in Zhongshan.
