Sinitic. Probably from Middle Chinese compound 墓地 (muH dijH, grave, tomb” + “ground, region). The kan'on reading, so likely a later borrowing. Compare modern Mandarin 墓地 (mùdì), Min Nan 墓地 (bōng-tē).
