- 2016, Handō Kazutoshi, Nichi-Ro senso shi [Russo-Japanese War history], page 11:
- 電車が一時半までやるとなっては誰が高い金を出して人力車を採る者があろうか。先ず速い山の手行きの客か。もしくは吉原洲崎へ浮れ込む嫖客をつかまえるより外はない。
- Densha ga ichijihan made yaru tonatte wa dare ga takai kane o dashite jinrikisha o toru mono ga arō ka. Mazu hayai yamanote iki no kyaku ka. Moshikuha Yoshiwara Susaki e ukarekomu hyōkyaku o tsukamaeru yori hoka wa nai.
