  1. A frequentative suffix added to a verb to express the frequent repetition of an action.
    döng (to echo, boom) → döngicsél (to buzz (as a bee))

Usage notes[edit]

Member of the -csál/-csél suffix cluster. It appears only in a few words. Sometimes an -i- linking vowel is used for easier pronunciation.

  • -csál is added to back vowel words
  • -csél is added to front vowel words
